北京奥运会为什么定在2008年8月8日？

北京奥运会为什么要定在2008年8月8日晚上8点呢？好多人认为这是中国人认为8是吉祥数而刻意安排的，那么真实情况是怎样的呢？

其实真实的情况并不是大家所想的那样，刚开始国际奥委会给北京奥运会制定的时间是2008年7月25日-8月10日，因为根据惯例奥运会开幕式都安排在周末也就是星期五召开，但问题是7月下旬是北京雷雨高发期，奥运会300多个项目中田径、赛艇等项目是室外项目，所以中国奥委会委托中国气象局，重新制定出五个时间段：08.8.1-8.18、8.8-8.24、8.15-8.31、8.22-9.7、8.29-9.14日上报给国际奥委会裁定，最后国际奥委会经研究选出2008年8月8日为开幕日，所以2008年8月8日并不是中国奥委会精心选出，而是一种美妙的巧合。
